The role requires familiarity with API gateways, message queues and ETL processes to enable seamless data synchronisation across cloud and on premises platforms.
In addition to hands on development, the specialist conducts integration testing, supervises staging deployments and troubleshoots production incidents. API Integration Specialist Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and document API based integrations and middleware solutions.
- Implement authentication and authorisation schemes such as OAuth2, API keys and token management.

API Integration Specialist Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in API development and system integration, typically 3+ years.
- Strong skills in RESTful and SOAP API design, OpenAPI/Swagger and JSON/XML.
- Familiarity with authentication standards such as OAuth2, JWT and mutual TLS.
- Experience with integration platforms, API gateways, message brokers and ETL tools.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Node.js or C#.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud and their integration services.
