The role requires sound judgment, attention to detail and the ability to communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

They may support audits, contribute to training sessions and help refine compliance procedures to reduce operational risk. Compliance Analyst Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor transactions and activity for signs of non-compliance and prepare incident reports.
  • Conduct regular control testing and document results for management review.
  • Assist with customer due diligence, know your customer checks and ongoing monitoring.
  • Analyse regulatory changes and support the implementation of required process updates.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and internal compliance reports promptly.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing evidence and responding to queries.
  • Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures and training materials.
  • Collaborate with business units to remediate control gaps and track remediation progress.
  • Perform risk assessments and contribute to the organisation's risk register.
  • Contribute to compliance training and raise awareness of regulatory obligations.

Compliance Analyst Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in law, finance, business, criminology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in compliance, risk, audit or regulatory roles.
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering, know your customer procedures and sanctions screening.
  • Familiarity with data protection principles and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and report writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Excel, data interrogation tools and compliance monitoring systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Professional certifications such as ICA, ACAMS or equivalent are advantageous.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and the ability to handle confidential information.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines in a changing regulatory environment.
