  • Allocate resources and adjust staffing to meet demand and control labour cost
  • Train, coach and develop team members; conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions where necessary
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and conduct routine safety checks
  • Oversee inventory control, stock counts and reconciliation activities
  • Coordinate with warehouse, transport and customer service teams to resolve issues
  • Implement process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate operational records and prepare shift handovers
  • Manage incidents and escalate to senior management as required
  • Ensure equipment is operated safely and arrange maintenance where necessary

Operations Supervisor Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or team leader role within operations, warehouse or logistics
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse practices, inventory management and shipping processes
  • Familiarity with health and safety legislation and risk assessment procedures
  • Excellent communication and people management skills
  • Ability to analyse performance data and implement improvement plans
  • Competence with MS Office and warehouse management systems; experience with handheld devices is an advantage
  • Flexible approach to shift work, including early starts, evenings and occasional weekends
  • Relevant vocational qualifications in logistics, supply chain or operations management are desirable
